my husband and i went out to dinner with his parents. we’re both nonreligious but his parents are christian. i was raised christian and a lot of my family openly prays before eating, etc. so when his parents bowed their heads and prayed before dinner, i automatically put my head down as well, just as a reflex. dakota was so shocked and asked me why i did it,… i said i was just being polite.

sometimes it’s hard to be friends with your exes. when they’re telling you their version of perfect, and everything they want in a girl, you just kinda sit back and realize…you were none of those things……almost like they want the complete opposite of you. idk…i always find a way to bring myself down

but i mean, if they’re your ex, then obviously neither of you were right for each other. if you had been, you’d still be together. it’s okay that you’re not his idea of perfect, and honestly you probably have shaped his idea of perfect and maybe there are some things he wants in a girl that he maybe only realizes he wants because he didn’t have them in you. by virtue of being your ex, it’s okay.

just because he doesn’t think you’re perfect doesn’t mean you aren’t.

here’s my vision for my future…

i want me, dakota, my sister, her significant other, and all of our children to live together. i don’t want to stay in line with this contemporary american idea that we’re all so separate and independent. wouldn’t our lives be easier that way anyway? we’d take up less space, share our money and personal belongings, just live TOGETHER. share our LIVES.

also, we are all going to live in a tree. i want a tree house. wouldn’t that be so nice? i don’t see why i should have to live in a big house when we could live in something so magical as a tree house. could you imagine? i can’t imagine living one day of our lives unhappily if we lived in a tree house.

because that’s a thing. you can have a fully-functional tree home built, with plenty of room for all of us.

so, if society doesn’t collapse and the world doesn’t end, and we can’t find a viable option for living in a community that runs similarly to the way i want our little family to live, this is plan B.

and plan B sounds pretty nice.
